What this practice covers
These questions are drawn from past CIE 0264 Business papers and filtered to market research. You answer, you find out immediately whether you were right, and you get the reasoning for the correct option and for each distractor. Wrong answers go to a mistakes locker so you can come back to exactly those.
Practice is free. You need an account only so your progress and your mistakes are still there next time.

What examiners see students get wrong here
These are the errors that cost marks on market research, taken from our own topic notes. Read them before you practise and you will recognise the traps in the questions.
- Calling secondary research "second-hand opinions". It is existing data, whoever collected it.
- Listing a method without saying what it is for. A focus group and a footfall count answer different questions.
- Saying primary research is always better. It is more relevant and more expensive, and for sizing a whole market it is usually the wrong tool.
- Claiming research removes risk rather than reducing it.
- Saying a sample is "a small number of people" without saying it must represent the target market.
- Ignoring sample size when judging results, then treating the percentages as fact.
- Reading a chart and stopping. The marks are for what the figures mean for this business's decision.
- Writing percentages that do not add to 100%, or dividing the wrong way round.
Revise it first
