What this practice covers
These questions are drawn from past CIE 0264 Business papers and filtered to technology and production. You answer, you find out immediately whether you were right, and you get the reasoning for the correct option and for each distractor. Wrong answers go to a mistakes locker so you can come back to exactly those.
Practice is free. You need an account only so your progress and your mistakes are still there next time.

What examiners see students get wrong here
These are the errors that cost marks on technology and production, taken from our own topic notes. Read them before you practise and you will recognise the traps in the questions.
- Treating mechanisation and automation as the same thing.
- Describing CAM as design software. It controls the machines that make the product.
- Saying 3D printing is cheap for mass production. Its advantage is small runs and one-offs.
- Answering a service sector question with factory examples. A shop does not have a production line.
- Writing "fewer employees are needed" and stopping there, without the wage saving.
- Listing the cost of technology as a disadvantage without saying what the cash outflow prevents the business doing.
- Giving the effects on the business when the question asked about employees, or the reverse.
- Assuming technology always improves quality. It improves consistency, and only if it is set up and maintained properly.
Revise it first
