What this practice covers
These questions are drawn from past CIE 0264 Business papers and filtered to human resource management (hrm). You answer, you find out immediately whether you were right, and you get the reasoning for the correct option and for each distractor. Wrong answers go to a mistakes locker so you can come back to exactly those.
Practice is free. You need an account only so your progress and your mistakes are still there next time.

What examiners see students get wrong here
These are the errors that cost marks on human resource management (hrm), taken from our own topic notes. Read them before you practise and you will recognise the traps in the questions.
- Defining recruitment as choosing the best candidate. That is selection.
- Swapping the job description and the person specification.
- Writing that internal recruitment brings in new ideas, or that external recruitment is cheap.
- Listing every selection method instead of choosing between them and saying why.
- Recommending a candidate without saying why the other candidates were rejected for this business.
- Naming the business and calling it application. Application uses a detail from the case that changes the point.
- Confusing induction training with on-the-job training. Induction is about the business; on-the-job is about the tasks.
- Saying off-the-job training is always better because it is more thorough, without weighing the cost and the lost output.
Revise it first
If any of the above is unfamiliar, work through the notes before practising: Human resource management (HRM) revision notes.
